Leafblower, at 7:30 am on a Saturday morning.
Sure, why the hell not?
I’LL TELL YOU WHY NOT, YOU FRICKEN PRICK, IT’S SATURDAY MORNING
AND THE LEAVES WANT TO SLEEP IN, YOU GODDAMNED DOUCHE CANOE

  1. This is why I follow your blog! This, and your so adorable kids – your photography makes me want to adopt more then my two. Your camping adventures… we thought we were bold to take ours when the youngest was 3! How wrong we were. Oh everything. You are a gifted writer. :)

  2. Aunty Laurie says:

Have you said anything to these ASSHOLES Directly about how inconveniently timed their yard work is? If you haven’t, you NEED to! If you have, then you need to consult your local codes to see if you have any recourse. If both A, And B fail, we may be able to find a small incendiary device to incinerate the front landscaping on line. Just a thought, mind you!

  3. It’s just the neighborhood. We live across the street from two churches, each with lawns. Then the landscapers come for our yard. Then the apartments next door. Then the homeowners behind us. We live in a dense, suburban neighborhood and apparently everyone and their goddamned dog is equipped with leaf blowers (or weed whackers, or giant lawn mowers, or anything else gas powered that makes a racket).

  4. i feel ya. I’m noodling along my sunday, my quiet peaceful sunday, where even the bugs are moving sluggishly, quietly. and wham!! the neighbor starts up the leaf blower/week-whacker. and it sounds like it is in my living room. i finally went over and asked him, really politely, if he could do that on any other day than sunday (since he’s unemployed). surprising me, he was very receptive. now he does his yard work saturday morning before noon, before i even get home from work.
regarding codes, i would check them out. you can probably find them online. here, where it gets so stinking hot, they are allowed to fire up equiupment at 7am, gah, so they can be done by 3 when the heat really starts ramping up. but it doesn’t get hot there, so it is probably later.
