Milestones: 1,000th Post. And Also…

That’s what this is. the 1000th post on this blog. I’ve been blogging since the end of 2007. I’ve written 448,889 words.

Thanks for reading. Blogging is fun.

And we had another milestone in our house this weekend.

Here’s our guys, eating breakfast. From the beginning, we’ve just given them big people food. Starting with soft, mushy stuff, leading up to just sharing whatever we are eating ourselves. We were inspired by Baby Led Weaning, and someday I’ll write more on that.

Would you like some pear?

Hi, smiley guy. Whatcha got in that mouth of yours?

What’s that?

Fourteen and a half months. First tooth in the house. We had a false alarm a few weeks ago with Cask. But this appears to be the real deal. Our first tooth!

All the better for chewing our oatmeal. Whatever doesn’t end up on our faces, instead of in our mouths. Or on the floor.

  1. Yay!

I also just learned that teeth fall out in the *same* order that they come in. That kinda rocked my world. Also: kids who get their teeth late will also lose them later than their peers. Fun facts to know and tell…

    • Interesting! Dave got his teeth late. I got my teeth late. I also lost my teeth late too. I was still waiting for baby teeth to come out so I could get braces at 12.

But also, I didn’t get my first cavity until I was in my late 30s. So we are cool with late choppers.

  2. Aunty Laurie says

Yay A Toofy!!!! Big Hugs For All!!!

  3. Too freakin’ cute!!

  4. love the foot on the table in the last photo. When was the last time I could do that?

  5. W00t! Congrats on 1000 posts. Whew!

  6. Every word was absolutely necessary! Congratulations on the tooth. I was born with two front teeth. the crazy doctors back in the fifties thought it was wrong and that i would have three sets of front teeth so they pulled them at one week! great they were wrong and i had no front teeth until my permanent teen showed up!

    1950’s toooooo many martinis!
