Here’s my new blog theme. It’s a work in progress, but most of the cosmetic stuff is done. I wanted lighter and cleaner, and after struggling for a couple months with a different theme, I felt like I was spinning my wheels. Sometimes it’s better to just start from scratch. So this is the NEW new theme. Ta-Da!

I am ironing out the kinks to feature a Somewhat Daily Photo, the books I’m Reading, maybe a feature for Stuff I Like. I may have dedicated spots for Oregon, Downsizing and Cat Puke Stories. But all the categories are at the bottom for your perusal.

Despite my bellyaching, designing blogs is one of my favorite activities. But I also like to fret and agonize and be a general nutjob. So please excuse my dust as I finish this remodel. As always, we appreciate your business.

And thanks for reading!

  1. Looks fantastic!

  2. Thanks, muffin.

  3. Meredith says

    Very nice!

  4. I’m not usually fond of serif fonts in general, but this is very nice and easy to read. Well done.

  5. What? No category for “Furry Bastard?”

Was that a trade-off for pictorial masthead prominence?

  6. Sean, it’s been renamed “I’m a Crazy Cat Lady.” I was sort of feeling bad about calling him a bastard. I mean, he IS a bastard, but now he’s got this kidney failure thing and I feel like I need to nice to him while he’s still around. Damn cat.

  7. Looks great! The hand drawn elements fit your blog well. And I’m amazed you were able to colorize that black and white header photo so convincingly (that’s what you did, right?)

  8. It’s definitely whiter.

    No really, it looks nice!

  9. I like it! But now your posts are truncated when I read them in Google Reader. :( Is there a way you can fix that?

  10. Kate, I tried fixing that setting. Let me know if you are still getting an excerpt. Thanks!

  11. Nice!
